A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Men's Basketball
- The Vikings (6-16, 1-8) will begin their second half of league play with a road trip to Detroit Mercy on Thursday, January 31 and Oakland on Saturday, February 2.
- Cleveland State picked up its first Horizon League win with a 72-62 victory against Youngstown State last Saturday, led by Rashad Williams who had a game high 20 points.
- Freshman Rashad Williams enters the week ranked seventh in the league in three-pointers made, averaging 2.5 per game. He went 6-for-8 from behind-the-arc in their victory over Youngstown State.
- Dennis Felton Radio Show: The weekly call-in show about Cleveland State basketball will take place on Monday, January 28 at Chili's in the CSU Student Center from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Al Pawlowski will serve as the host, with head coach Dennis Felton talking about all things Viking Basketball. The show can be heard on WHK, AM-1420. 

Women's Basketball
- Cleveland State (7-13, 4-5) will begin the second half of Horizon League play this week, hosting Detroit Mercy (Thursday, January 31) and Oakland (Saturday, February 2). Saturday's game against Oakland will serve as CSU's annual Pink Game.
- Last time out, the Vikings dropped a 73-55 contest at Youngstown State, with Mariah Miller recording her fourth double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
- After averaging just two points per game last year, Mariah White scored a team high 17 points in the loss Saturday, and enters the week 11th in scoring among Horizon League players averaging 12.3 ppg.

Fencing
- Cleveland State returns to action this weekend at the Northwestern Duals.

Men's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State will take this week off before competing at the HL Championships February 13-16.
- CSU dropped a 188-112 decision to Oakland in its regular-season finale.
- Freshman Jack Krusinski won the 200 breaststroke while sophomore Matt Akers posted a NCAA score in 1-meter diving.

Women's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State will take this week off before competing at the HL Championships February 13-16.
- CSU dropped a 197-103 decision to Oakland in its regular-season finale.
- Senior Molly McNamara swept the butterfly events against the Golden Grizzlies.

Wrestling
- Cleveland State (4-6, 1-3) hosts local rival Kent State Friday, February 1, before competing in the Edinboro Open on Saturday, February 2.
- The Vikings took down Bloomsburg, 27-15, in their only action this past week to claim their first EWL win of the season.
- Senior Sam Matzek (141) and redshirt freshman Brady Barnett (149) both notched wins by fall in the victory.

Indoor Track & Field
- The Vikings will return to action at the Akron Invite on Saturday, February 2.
- Last weekend, the majority of the team competed at the Spire Invitational, while Anna Brandt ran in the Mile at the Penn State National.
- The Vikings set four program records on the weekend, with Anna Brandt (Mile), Monica Johnson (60H), Tylar Mixon (200), and Deja Emmanus (600) all posting top times. 

Lacrosse
- Cleveland State opens the regular season this Saturday, February 2, at Ohio State.
- The Vikings hosted a pair of scrimmages this past weekend against two Canadian opponents to unofficially begin the season.

Men's Tennis
- The Vikings (1-3) will continue their season-opening roadswing with a pair of matches this weekend, traveling to Dayton on Friday, February, 1 and Butler on Saturday, February 2.
- Last time out, the Vikings dropped a 6-1 match at Penn and picked up a 4-3 victory at Temple in the first-ever meeting between the two teams to mark the first win of the spring season.
- Freshman Clark Bilinovich picked up his second straight win at No. 5 singles, posting a perfect 2-0 record on the weekend. 

Women's Tennis
- Cleveland State (1-0) will host Dayton at 2:00pm on Friday, February 1 in their lone match of the week.
- The Vikings opened their spring season with a 7-0 sweep over St. Bonaventure last time out, marking the first win for head coach Frank Polito at Cleveland State.
- Isabella Spindler earned her 48th career win against St. Bonaventure, and is now just two wins away from becoming the 15th Viking all-time to reach 50 career wins.

2019 Hall of Fame
- Tickets are now on sale for the 41st annual Cleveland State Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner & Induction Ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, February 16.
- The 2019 Hall of Fame class includes J'Nathan Bullock (Men's Basketball), Kailey Klein (Women's Basketball) and Phil Orno (Men's Tennis).

Viking Of The Week
Rashad Williams, Men's Basketball
The freshman posted a game-high 20 points in Cleveland State's victory over YSU last weekend, finishing with a 6-for-8 performance from behind-the-arc. Williams played 30 minutes off the bench for the Vikings, also finishing with three rebounds and one assist against the Penguins.
