A look at what's happening in Cleveland State Athletics...

Men's Basketball
- Cleveland State (8-20, 3-12) will close out the regular season on the road over the next two weeks, beginning with a pair of games at Wright State (Thursday, February 21) and Northern Kentucky (Saturday, February 23) this weekend.
- Last time out, the Vikings closed out their home schedule by splitting their games against UIC and IUPUI, picking up an 89-86 victory over the Jaguars and dropping an 81-77 decision against the Flames.
- Tyree Appleby finished with a double-double against IUPUI, posting 26 points and 11 assists, while he combined for 42 points on the weekend.
- Dennis Felton Radio Show: The weekly call-in show about Cleveland State basketball will take place on Monday, February 18 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Slyman's in Independence. Al Pawlowski will serve as the host, with head coach Dennis Felton talking about all things Viking Basketball. The show can be heard on WHK, AM-1420.

Women's Basketball
- The Vikings (10-16, 7-8) will hit the road for the final time during regular season play this week, traveling to Wright State (Friday, February 22) and Northern Kentucky (Sunday, February 24).
- Entering the final two weeks of regular season play, Cleveland State sits sixth in the #HLWBB standings after dropping a pair of games against Milwaukee and Green Bay last time out.
- Against the Phoenix, Savanna Crockett recorded her 10th double-double of the year with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and is one of just two freshmen nationwide with 10+ double-doubles on the year.

Men's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State finished second at the Horizon League Championships with 607.5 points.
- Matthew Martin won the 100 butterfly title and Jared Stergar won the 100 breaststroke title.
- Matthew Akers took second in 1-meter diving with an NCAA qualifying score while Dominik Niedzialek posted an NCAA time in the 100 backstroke.

Women's Swimming & Diving
- Cleveland State finished fourth at the Horizon League Championships with 500.5 points.
- Molly McNamara was named Athlete of the Year as well as Swimmer of the Meet after posting three individual first-place finishes.
- Cassandra Oltman broke school records in the 100 and 200 backstroke at the meet.

Wrestling
- Cleveland State (4-11) will conclude the regular season this Saturday, February 23, as it hosts Binghamton at 1:00 p.m.
- The Vikings hosted a pair of duals this past Saturday and dropped decisions to Northern Illinois (7-26) and nationally ranked Lock Haven (3-36).
- Sam Matzek (141), Ryan Ford (165) and Ben Smith (197) notched wins on the day for CSU.

Fencing
- Cleveland State heads to the Midwest Conference Championships, hosted by Ohio State, this Saturday, February 24, and Sunday, February 25.
- CSU was off from competition this past week.
- Ahmad Taqi and Abigail Barr each notched second-place finishes February 9 when CSU hosted the 10th annual John Szent-Kiraly Open.

Indoor Track & Field
- The Vikings are set for the 2019 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will take place on Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24 at Youngstown State.
- Entering the #HLTF championships, the Vikings own eight top-five individual and relay marks among Horizon League teams, including the second fastest time in the 4x400 relay (3:58.66).

Lacrosse
- Cleveland State (1-2) heads west for a pair of games this weekend as it takes on Air Force and nationally ranked Denver in the Faceoff Classic.
- The Vikings used a 12-1 run spanning halftime to cruise past Bellarmine, 17-8, collecting their first win of the season this past weekend.
- CSU won 25-of-28 faceoffs, including Danny Tesler going 16-for-18.
- Sophomore Tristan Hanna had four goals and two assists. 

Men's Tennis
- The Vikings (6-4) will continue their current eight-match homestand with a pair of contests this weekend, hosting Ball State (Friday, February 22) and No. 16 Michigan (Sunday, February 24).
- Last time out, the Vikings won a trio of matches against Binghamton, St. Bonaventure and Oberlin, extending their winstreak to four straight matches.
- Benjamin Slade went 3-0 in singles play over the weekend, becoming the eighth Viking all-time to reach 70 career singles wins.

Women's Tennis
- Cleveland State (1-4) will split its time at home and on the road this week, traveling to No. 10 Ohio State on Wednesday (February 20) and hosting Binghamton on Sunday (February 24).
- Last time out, Kateryna Avram went 2-0 in singles play, picking up wins against West Virginia and Duquesne, while Siân Payne and Gaby Schoenberg each picked up wins against Duquesne to improve to 4-1 this spring.

Softball
- The Vikings (1-3) will continue their early season tournament schedule at the Hilltopper Classic hosted by Western Kentucky this weekend, playing five games over a three-day span.
- Last time out, Cleveland State participated in the East Carolina Pirate Clash, picking up the first win of the season in an 8-7 decision over Wagner.
- For the weekend, Kelly Hysong finished with a team-high six hits, including a pair of doubles and a homerun. 

Giving Day 2019

Viking Of The Week
Molly McNamara, Women's Swim & Dive
The senior was named the Horizon League Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Year and Swimmer of the Meet at the 2019 Horizon League Championships, becoming the first Viking to win Swimmer of the Meet more than once. McNamara finished with three individual titles at the #HLSD Championship (200 Butterfly, 100 Butterfly & 200 Individual Medley), finishing her career with six Horizon League titles.
