CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Kevin Hesser, who spent the last three years as Sports Information and Athletic Marketing and Promotions Director at the University of Sioux Falls, has been named Marketing Coordinator for the Cleveland State athletic department. CSU Director of Athletics Lee Reed made the announcement on Monday (June 11).

"I welcome Kevin to Cleveland State University and I look forward to the contributions that he will make to our athletic marketing program," Reed said.

"Kevin impressed us with the depth of the marketing plans that he was involved with in Sioux Falls and the results that he had. I believe that his ideas will translate well into our plans here at Cleveland State.

Hesser was involved in the creation of a student fan club called The PULSE at Sioux Falls, resulting in a 25-percent participation rate among the student body and increased sponsorship revenue of over 33-percent.

Also while at USF, Hesser assisted in the production of football and basketball programs. The basketball program finished in first place in the "2005-06 NAIA Basketball Game Program Contest" and was also named "Best Cover." The football program earned a second place finish in the football game day program contest. It also won the "Best Cover" honor.

Hesser earned his Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Sioux Falls. He was named honorable mention to the Argus Leader's 2007 "15 Under 30: Young South Dakotans who show a zeal to lead."

Hesser also served as an assistant baseball coach at USF. After a 2005 finish of 3-39, he helped guide the Cougars to set the school record in single season wins (31) in 2006 and a conference championship in 2007.

Originally from Lincoln, Neb., Hesser earned his undergraduate degree in Sport Management at Nebraska Wesleyan University. As a student he interned for minor league baseball's New Jersey Cardinals and the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Baseball Association.
