    WORK EXPERIENCE

    Associate Athletics Director/Internal Affairs, Eastern Michigan University (January 1998 to July 2002)

      • Complete supervisory responsibility for all internal operations of a Division I-A intercollegiate athletics program.
      • Involved in the organization and planning of the NCAA Second-Cycle Certification process. Appointed to the Equity, Student-Athlete Welfare & Sportsmanship Subcommittee.
      • Line oversight responsibility for NCAA Compliance Operations.
      • Responsible for administrative oversight of seven men's Olympic sports including fund raising, budget development, hiring and evaluation of coaches.
      • Line oversight responsibility of the Facility/Operations Division. Currently creating a long-term athletics facilities plan.
      • Author of EMU Student-Athlete Handbook
      • Primary contributor to the Strategic Planning process for Intercollegiate Athletics.
      • Chair of IAAC Subcommittee on Student-Athlete Welfare.
      • Successfully negotiated a $1.3 million dollar multi-game contract with the University of Michigan, the highest amount in EMU history.
      • Responsible for special projects and community relations. Past projects include, coordinating alumni outreach programs, writing the Athletics Department's section of the NCA Accreditation plan, successful negotiation of the current athletics merchandise sales contract, analysis and implementation of a departmental technology upgrade plan.
      • Assessed variances in Athletics Department Minority and Gender Equity plans as it relates to Title IX compliance. Assisted on the development of the plan to achieve substantial compliance in the department.
      • Administer the $3.5 million grant-in-aid budget for 21 varsity programs.

    Executive Assistant to the President, Eastern Michigan University (May 1996 to January 1998)

      • Responsible for the daily operations of the Office of the President.
      • Served on the President's Cabinet.
      • Responsible for oversight of President's Office budget of over $7 million.
      • Served as the liaison between Intercollegiate Athletics and the President's Office on personnel budget, marketing and public relations issues.
      • Served as the coordinator of the Barriers to Learning initiative, which was one of four University goals established by the President and approved by the Board of Regents.

    Director of Ticket Operations Marketing and Promotions Assistant, Eastern Michigan University (May 1995 to May 1996)

      • Directed all aspects of the ticket operations for intercollegiate athletics.
      • Hired and supervised all event staff.
      • Developed all marketing and ticket brochures and print advertising.
      • Solicited and secured corporate sponsorships.
      • Assisted with the development and implementation of the "Sweet Seventeen Committee," which was charged with developing a strategy to average 17,000 fans per home contest for the 1995 football season. This committee was responsible for EMU leading the nation in highest average attendance increase in Division I-A football in 1995. Also broke all EMU attendance records.

    Administrative Assistant, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) (January 1994 to April 1995)

      • Assisted with the administration of the Sears Directors' Cup program, which included compiling data from NCAA championships, to determine winners of the Cup, based on a point system.
      • Administered the NACDA Foundation scholarships program, the intern program and maintained the NACDA membership database.
      • Responsible for the daily operations of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) including convention planning and on-site coordination of the annual workshop.
      • Additional duties included serving as circulation manager of Athletics Administration.

    Tournament Director/Facilities Staff Assistant, University of New Mexico (September 1992 to January 1994)

      • Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the Lobo Classic and Lobo Invitational Basketball Tournaments.
      • Served on planning committee for the 1992 NCAA Division I Women's Volieyball Championships and NCAA Division I Men's Gymnastics Championships.
      • Hired and coordinated all game-day staff for all intercollegiate athletics events.
      • Responsible for event management of all Olympic sports.
