The purpose of the CSU Cheerleading and Mascot Program is to provide support to our athletic programs and create spirit throughout our arena and community! The mascot and cheerleaders serve as ambassadors to the university and carry the responsibility of being the liaison between the local community and CSU Athletics! This fantastic group of CO-ED individuals is not only the spirit of CSU, but they are also student leaders! Congratulations to our graduating senior, Spring 2006- Michael Georgalis!! Our spirit team can be seen at men and women's home basketball games, pep rallies, campus events and also devoting their time to community outreach programs.

Here are just a few places the CSU Cheerleaders will be in action this season!

  • Breast Cancer Walk (Race for the Cure)
  • Ovarian Cancer walk
  • Diabetes Walk
  • A visit to Rainbow Babies and Children
  • A visit to the Zelma George Family Shelter
  • Collect and donate non-perishable food items to the Cleveland Food Bank
As you can see being apart of the spirit program is much more than just cheering at the basketball games! We are a team on and off the court! CSU Cheerleaders receive many perks including great friends fun and memories to last a lifetime. After completion of one full semester as a cheerleader or mascot, all members are eligible to receive a full book scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on attendance, performance, dedication to the team, and current academic standing.

The CSU Cheerleaders wish all of our athletic teams a productive and successful season!! GO VIKINGS!!
