Cliff Cook, a 30-year coaching veteran in the Cleveland area, is in his second season as an assistant baseball coach with the Cleveland State program.

Cook brings a wealth of knowledge to the CSU program, having been a coach at the high school or college level for the past 33 seasons.

Cook's main responsibilities are working with the Viking bullpen and assisting with the pitching staff.

Prior to his appointment at CSU, Cook served as an assistant baseball coach at Baldwin-Wallace since 1999, focusing his efforts as the recruiting coordinator and pitching coach.

In 2004, he guided the Yellow Jacket pitching staff to a 4.66 earned run average as the team posted a 20-14 record. The following season, the staff lowered the team ERA to 4.64 under Cook's direction.

Prior to arriving at B-W, Cook was the head coach at Bay Village High School for 23 years. During his tenure, he compiled a 437-255 record and was named the Southwestern Conference Coach of the Year seven times. He captured seven conference, six sectional and four district titles at Bay, while also making four regional appearances.

In 1989, Cook guided Bay Village to a state runner-up finish and was tabbed as the Greater Cleveland Baseball Coaches Association Coach of the Year.
