Third Season

Rob Henry has been the righthand man for CSU head coach Kevin Kocks for the last nine years.

One of the top young assistant coaches in the college game today, Henry is in his third season at Cleveland State.

Henry works with the Viking infield, assists with the hitters and helps coordinate the team's overall daily operations.

Henry came to CSU after spending six seasons working with head coach Kevin Kocks at Spalding University, where he was the top assistant coach.

While there, Henry coordinated scouting reports and fundraising efforts. He was part of a staff that helped lead the Pelicans went 282-132, posting four straight 50-win seasons from 2002-05.

Henry, who joined the Spalding baseball staff in just the school's second baseball season, helped lead the squad to the NAIA World Series three times (2002, 2003 and 2005).

"Rob has always been my right-hand guy," head coach Kevin Kocks said. "We have been working together a long time and he is a great young baseball coach." Before joining Kocks at Spalding, Henry was the top assistant at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Ky. from 1996-2001.

While at Wesleyan, he coordinated the team's infield and team defense, while also directing the team's strength conditioning program. He also directed the school's youth baseball camps and ran the team's website.

Henry graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education. He earned a master's degree from Western Kentucky in United States history in 2004.

Henry and his wife, Lisa, have a son, Joshua. They reside in Tremont, Ohio.
