After serving as both a starter and reliever last season, Mike Ochwat will move into the rotation as the team's No. 4 starter.
2004 - Junior Season
Horizon League leader with a 1.70 ERA...went 3-2 as both a starter and long reliever, and batted .233 in 31 starts as a left fielder...yielded only nine earned runs while striking out 23...held batters to a .236 average...started in six games, completing two...tossed back-to-back seven-inning complete games against Wright State (4/17) and UW-Milwaukee (4/24)...allowed two earned runs while striking out four against the Raiders...shutout the Panthers on two hits, striking out five...shut out UIC for 6.0 innings (5/2)...also allowed one run in 6.0 innings against Youngstown State (4/10)...started and picked up the win against UIC (5/29) that allowed CSU to advance to the Horizon League Championship game...went 5-for-11 with a home run and three RBI in a three-game set with Kent State (5/7, 5/8, & 5/10)...scored a pair of runs on a homer and a single against Detroit (5/16).
2003 - Sophomore Season
Played in 22 games, starting eight...batted .306 with 11 hits, two doubles and eight runs scored...3-for-4 in steals...posted a 7.46 ERA in 10 appearances...started eight games...drove in three runs and scored three on three hits in the opener of a double-header against Chicago State (4/12)...picked up a win at Illinois-Chicago, going seven innings.
2002 - Freshman Season
Appeared in 24 games, starting 11 times...went 7-for-37 with a pair of RBI and five runs scored...2-for-3 in stolen base attempts...did not make an error in 18 chances in the outfield...went 3.0 innings in his lone pitching appearance, giving up just two hits and one run while striking out three versus Wright State (5/18)...went 2-for-4 at Akron (4/23).
High School
Team captain in 2000 and 2001...two time all-league selection...also earned honorable mention honors...led team to league title his senior season...played baseball, football and basketball, earning a total of nine varsity letters...played wide receiver in football and guard in basketball.
