Viking Basketball To Air On WHK, 1420 AM

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- WHK, 1420 AM in Cleveland will serve as the flagship station of the Viking Basketball Radio Network for the 2013-14 season as part of an agreement between Cleveland State, Nelligan Sports and Salem Communications.

In addition, the Vikings will get additional exposure under the agreement as WHKZ, 1440 AM in the Youngstown and Warren areas will also broadcast the games.

Al Pawlowski returns for his ninth season as the play-by-play voice of the Vikings.

Under the agreement, every game during the 2013-14 season will be aired live on both stations and streamed live on the internet via whkwradio.com. The broadcasts will include a 30-minute pre-game show, hosted by Ed Daugherty who has served as a radio play-by-play and color analyst for St. Ignatius H.S. football and Case Western athletics.

In addition, fans will be able to download the "Listen Live" app on Smartphones to listen to every game this season.

Cleveland State opens the 2013-14 season at home against Iona on Saturday, Nov. 9.
