CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State has accepted a bid to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament and will open play with a first round road game on either Tuesday (March 17) or Wednesday (March 18).
It will be the second straight year the Vikings will play in the CIT. It's the ninth overall postseason tournament in program history and the sixth in the last eight seasons.
CSU is 6-8 all-time in the postseason, including a 64-62 setback at Ohio in last year's CIT first round.
The Vikings are 18-14 this year and finished tied for third place in the Horizon League with an 11-5 record. CSU was defeated in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament, 60-55, at top-seeded and eventual champion Valparaiso.
The second round of the CIT will be played March 20-21, followed by the quarterfinals on March 24-25. The March 31 semifinals and April 2 championship game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
