CLEVELAND, Ohio -- WHK, 1420 AM and WHKW, 1220 AM in Cleveland will once again serve as the flagship stations of the Cleveland State Viking Basketball Radio Network for the 2017-18 season as part of an agreement between Cleveland State, Learfield Sports and Salem Communications.
In addition, the Vikings will get additional exposure under the agreement as WHKZ, 1440 AM in the Youngstown and Warren areas is also slated to broadcast every game this year.
Al Pawlowski returns for his 13th season as the play-by-play voice of the Vikings, while Pat Vuyancih, a member of the 1986 CSU "Sweet 16" team, will serve as an analyst for all home games and select road games.
The broadcasts will include a 30-minute pre-game show, hosted by Ed Daugherty for the fourth straight season. Daugherty will also host a post-game show after each game.
In addition, fans will be able to download the "Listen Live" app on Smartphones to hear every game this season, or listen to a live stream of the game at www.whkwradio.com for games on AM 1220 or on www.whkradio.com for games on AM 1420.
Cleveland State opens the 2017-18 season with a 7:00 p.m. game at Akron on Saturday (Nov. 11) as part of the NE Ohio Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
