Tristan Crawford can't wait for the season to begin. Forced to sit out the 2005-06 season so that he could meet NCAA initial eligibility requirements, Crawford is ready to show the skills that made him one of the best players in Pennsylvania as a senior. A natural scorer, he has the ability to create shots for himself and is a tremendous finisher, giving Gary Waters a offensive option that has been lacking from the Viking lineup the last couple of seasons.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Named the Pennsylvania Class AAA Player of the Year as a senior at Highspire High, playing for coach RIck Binder.
Averaged 23.0 points a game as a senior in leading the team to a 32-3 record and the state title.
Turned up his performance in the postseason, averaging 28.8 points in the four state tournament games. Closed his career with a 30-point effort in the championship game.
A third team all-state honoree as a junior, he ended his career with 2,141 career points.
Was ranked among the top 40 players in the region at the 2004 Boy's Basketball Shootout and as one of the top 20 seniors by the Pennsylvania/Maryland Basketball Camp.
Was recognized in the April 18 edition of Sports Illustrated as part of "Faces in the Crowd."
Earned all-conference and all-district honors in each of his final three seasons, playing on teams that posted a combined 81-12 record.
