Hard-nosed. Tough. Tenacious. Dedicated. All are words that Mike Garland uses to describe Steve Gansey, and all are traits that Gansey showed during his freshman campaign. An off-guard who is capable of taking over games with his outside shooting, Gansey's playing skills fit well with Garland's up-tempo style. The development that he showed in his first season made him one of the top freshman in the Horizon League.
