Justin Henderson's presence in the post adds an option to the Vikings' scheme that has been lacking the last couple of seasons. A traditional back-to-the-basket center, he has the ability to be a presence inside at both ends of the court. He is an efficient scorer, using his size and strength to create scoring opportunities inside.
2004-05 SEASON:
Starter in four games at power forward and two at center.
Made the Dean's List for the fall semester after turning in a GPA above 3.25.
Made 25 of his last 33 free throws (.758) after starting year by going .333 (3-9) in his first three games.
Averaged 4.2 points and 2.3 rebounds a game, shooting .526 from the field (40-76).
Tallied nine points with a career-high eight rebounds at UW-Milwaukee (Jan. 20).
Scored 10 points vs. Youngstown State (Jan. 8), going 3-of-4 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line.
Scored eight points with a career-high six rebounds at Utah Valley State (Dec. 18).
Scored a career-high 12 points at Akron (Dec. 8), going 6-for-6 from the line.
Came off the bench to score 10 points with four rebounds against Clarion (Dec. 2), going 5-of-8 from the field.
Earned first career start vs. Norfolk State (Nov. 27), scoring eight points in 18 minutes.
PRE-CLEVELAND STATE CAREER:
First team all-region choice as a sophomore at Glen Oaks Community College, playing for coach Steve Proefrock.
Averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as a sophomore, shooting better than 50 percent from the field.
Helped team to a 23-7 record in 2003-04, earning first team all-league and all-district honors.
Averaged 10.5 points as a freshman in 2002-03 to earn third team all-conference accord and help squad to a 21-10 mark.
Two-sport standout at Westerville South High, lettering twice in basketball and once in football.
First team all-conference and honorable mention all-district pick as a senior in 2001-02 as South posted a 17-5 record.
Two-way regular in football as a senior, playing both tight end and defensive end.
