Josh McCoy is on the cusp of breaking into the Viking rotation after missing most of the 2009-10 season because of injury. A reserve at shooting guard, his long-range shooting ability and improved defense have opened the door for more playing time, giving Gary Waters a big shooting guard that was missing from the lineup last season. A proven scorer from the perimeter - he mad 184 treys during his high school career - he will help to loosen up the lane area by bringing the defense to guard him on the perimeter while adding strong rebounding skills at both ends of the court.
Reserve at off-guard and small forward in five games before being sidelined in late November by a hip injury that required surgery.
Was granted a medical hardship, allowing him to retain his sophomore eligibility and play three more years at CSU.
