At 7-2, Pete Ritzema is the tallest player to wear a CSU uniform and true to his size, he can have a big impact this year if he is able to shake the injuries that twice knocked him out of the lineup last year. Ritzema is traditional center, preferring to use his strength and size to play offensively with his back to the basket while proving to be a solid halfcourt defender.

2002-03 SEASON:
• Injuries limited him to just 55 minutes of action in 12 games.
• Played in only three of the first 14 games as he came back from off-season surgery to repair a heel injury.
• Scored four points with three rebounds in season debut vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore.
• Came off the bench to score nine points in six minutes vs. Detroit, making three-of-four field goals and three-of-four free throws.
• Earned first career start at St. Bonaventure on Jan. 28, scoring 2 points.
• Missed last five games of the year with a stress fracture in his foot.

CLEVELAND STATE CAREER:
• Set a career high with seven points vs. Prairie View A&M, adding three rebounds in a career-high 14 minutes.
• Pulled down a career-high five rebounds vs. Norfolk State.
• Equalled career high with a seven-point effort vs. Butler on Jan. 7, 2002.
• Joined the team in 2000-01 and spent the year as a redshirt.

PRE-CLEVELAND STATE:
• Named the most improved player by Prep Spotlight magazine in the state as a senior at Clarkston (Mich.) High, playing for coach Dan Fife.
• Averaged 12.0 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game as a senior, shooting 65 percent from the field and over 70 percent from the line.
• Led team to the district title as a senior, earning a spot in the Michigan All-Star game.
• Averaged more than 15 points a game as a junior, pulling down 10.4 rebounds and making 4.1 blocks.
