Anthony Wells learned a lot about collegiate basketball during his freshman season, information that he is ready to put to use on the hardwood this winter. The next in the long line of Cleveland area high school students to come to CSU and succeed, he showed the poise and steadiness of a veteran when he was unexpectedly thrust into the rotation last year. Capable of playing at either of the guard spots, he is able to score in a myriad of ways, especially creating opportunities for himself off the dribble and his defensive skills make him suited to play in the Gary Waters system.

    2009-10 Season
    • Played in 25 of the last 26 games, averaging 1.4 points in 10.8 minutes.
    • Was originally slated to redshirt and had sat out the first seven games, but injuries to a pair of Viking guards necessitated that he be inserted into the playing rotation.
    • Showed good efficiency offensively, shooting .500 from the field (15-30).
    • Scored three points with four assists and two rebounds in 17 minutes vs. Wilberforce (12/12/09).
    • Scored six points, on three-for-three shooting, with a rebound and a steal at Detroit (12/5/09).
    • Made his Viking debut at Wright State (12/3/09) after sitting out the first seven games, making one steal in eight minutes of action.
