CLEVELAND - Mike Schachtner went 10-for-15 from the floor en route to a game-high 26 points as UW-Green Bay earned a 79-66 victory over Cleveland State on Saturday evening in the Wolstein Center.

CSU led for just 30 seconds in first minute of the game, as the Phoenix shot 51.9 percent for the contest (28-54) to stave off every run the Vikings made. CSU shot a respectable 46.4 percent (26-56), while UWGB held a 34 to 26 advantage on the glass.

Victor Morris paced the Vikings (8-17, 2-10 HL) with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Raheem Moss added 16 points and four boards. Patrick Tatham finished with 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The Vikings scored the game's first basket, only to have the Phoenix respond with a 10-0 burst over the next three minutes.

After trading baskets for a couple of minutes, CSU cut the deficit to four (15-11) at the 13:22 mark on a three-pointer by Morris and a J'Nathan Bullock lay-up.

UWGB (13-11, 5-6 HL) immediately answered with a Cordero Barkley lay-in and a Schachtner triple and later took their biggest lead of the half (30-18) with 9:01 remaining when Schachtner struck for five straight points.

The Phoenix -- who have now won eight of the last nine over CSU -- eventually took a 41-33 lead into the locker room after shooting 55.2 percent (16-29) in the first 20 minutes.

The Vikings came out firing in the second half, as Morris knocked down a pair of threes and Moss and Breyohn Watson each added a triple of their own to cut the deficit to just 50-48 at the 12:26 mark.

CSU stayed within striking distance over the next eight minutes before a 9-0 Phoenix run put the game out of reach. Up 65-58 with 4:40 remaining, Schachtner (four points) and Evanochko (three) combined to help push the bulge to 16 points (74-58) with just under three minutes left to play.

Cleveland State returns to action next Thursday (Feb. 8) when the Vikings host No. 13/11 Butler (22-2, 10-1 HL) at 7:00 p.m. Fans are asked to wear green to the game in addition to bringing a canned good as part of a "Teaming for our Community" effort in conjunction with National City Bank and Harvest for Hunger.
