FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Reserve Percell Coles hit seven 3-pointers and had a career-high 31 points to lead Cleveland State to a 78-71 victory over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne in the BCA Invitational on Monday night.

Coles was 7-for-9 from 3-point range and tied the CSU school record for 3-pointers made in a game. He hit three 3-pointers at the start of the second half to bring Cleveland State (1-1) back from a seven-point halftime deficit. Pape Badiane added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Vikings, who shot 64 percent in the second half.

Ric Wyand had 23 points on 7-for-12 shooting for IPFW (0-2). IPFW shot 30 percent in the second half after hitting 65 percent in the first half.

Coles hit successive 3-pointers, but Robinson's baseline reverse layup tied the game at 52 with 16:52 left. Wyand's two layups gave IPFW a 66-62 lead.

Walt Chavis' 3-pointer and a layup off a fastbreak by Robinson with 4:22 left erased the lead for Cleveland State. After Robinson's layup off a steal, a basket by Badiane extended the lead to five points.

IPFW managed only Wyand's four free throws over the final 4:22.

Coles had four 3-pointers and 16 points in the first half, but Cleveland State trailed 44-37 at halftime. Coles buried a short jump shot to put the Vikings ahead 34-30, but IPFW closed with a 14-3 run with Wyand scoring seven points and Brad Noll had five.

For the Vikings, Badiane finished with 15 points while Robinson chipped in 12. Brad Noll added 13 for IPFW.

The Vikings outrebounded the Mastadons 33-23 as Andre' Williams matched a career-best with 12 boards. In addition, Williams, a 6-5 forward, handed out a career-high five assists while Chavis, the point guard, dealt out six helpers.
