Post Game Quotes

Cleveland State Head Coach Mike Garland: "This was a real good preview of what I am expecting out of this team. We can be a very balanced team. We have a lot of capable scorers. We can do some damage both inside and outside. I thought one of the biggest difference tonight was that we were able to get inside first, and that created a situation offensively for us where they had to now start to dig down and give help down in there and now our shooters got that extra split second that everybody talks about that increases shooting percentage.

"I was really happy to see the team come out of the locker room with the defensive intensity that they had. And that really turned the game and put us in position to get ahead of them and get a comfortable lead."

On guard Carlos English: "He plays a very good point guard. That's the reason I brought him in here. We run a play and then he takes that play and makes me look like I'm a genius."

On forward J'Nathan Bullock: "He is probably our most celebrated freshmen. Still, I see spurts out there where he does play like a freshman. He loses focus and starts drifting a little, in particularly on the defensive end."

On playing at Woodling Gym: "I guarantee if you ask [the players] that they probably would prefer to play here every night. Players love gyms. Playing in the big arena is great, but there is nothing like playing in a gym. We have one of the nicest places in the nation, but this is what basketball is all about."

Cleveland State forward Patrick Tatham: On his health: "I feel good right now. I hope to God that I can just stay healthy.

Cleveland State guard Carlos English: "My first game, I didn't really understand what coach Garland wanted, but he sat down and broke it down with me."
