CLEVELAND, Ohio - Former Cleveland State men's basketball standout D'Aundray Brown has signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as announced Thursday (Oct. 25) afternoon by Cavs General Manager Chris Grant. Per league and team policy, terms of the contract were not announced. "D'Aundray in my estimation, is truly deserving of this. He has most definitely put in the time and effort that it takes to play at this level," Cleveland State head coach Gary Waters said. "This has always been a dream of his and he has the skills and talent to play in the NBA. I am very excited for him and his ability to reach this level." Brown, who was a four-year starter at Cleveland State, led the Vikings to four postseason appearances during his career, including CSU's NCAA appearance in 2009. Throughout his time as a Viking, Brown played in 115 games, starting 91 contests. The Youngstown, Ohio native averaged 7.8 points on .487 shooting, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals in 28.4 minutes per game. Last season as a senior, Brown played in 26 contests, averaging 10.8 points (.457 field goal percentage), 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.5 steals in 29.7 minutes played per game. As a two-time Horizon League All-Defensive Team honoree (2010 & 2012), Brown finished his career ranked sixth in the CSU record book with 209 career steals and 10th with 3,262 career minutes played. He also ranks sixth in the single season record book, notching 81 during the 2009-10 season.
