Purchase Tickets CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland State junior guard Norris Cole, the second leading returning scorer in the Horizon League this season, has been named to the five player Preseason All-Horizon League first team in a balloting of heaad coaches, sports information directors and select media. "This is a nice honor that Norris has earned through hard work and practice," CSU head coach Gary Waters said. "From the very first day at CSU, he has worked to make himself a better player and that work ethic has allowed him to become one of the better players in the Horizon League." Joining Cole on the all-league first team was the Butler duo of Gordon Hayward and 2009 Player of the Year Matt Howard, and Wright State's Vaughn Duggins and Todd Brown. The all-league second team consisted of Butler's Shelvin Mack, Green Bay guards Rahmon Fletcher and Troy Cotton and Milwaukee's Tone Boyle and James Eayers. Cole, a 6-2, 175-pound guard from Dayton, Ohio, ranked in the league a year ago with a 13.3 scoring average. The bigger the game, the better the performance as Cole averaged 17.3 points in the six games against BCS schools (schools with major college football), scored 16.5 points a game in CSU's four league tournament games and led the Vikings in both NCAA tournament contests, averaging 19.5 points a game. Cole is one of two starters returning for the Vikings from last year's team that went 26-11, won the Horizon League Tournament title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
