WILMINGTON, N.C. - Nick Infanti shot a final round even-par 72 and just missed a top-10 finish at the Seahawk Intercollegiate that concluded on Monday at the par-72 Country Club of Landfall.
Infanti posted an 11th place finish with a 54-hole total of 221. Following an opening round 78, he shot a one-under-par 71 yesterday afternoon and followed that with today's 72.
The Vikings shot a final round 301 today, their low round of the event after rounds of 308 and 305 on Sunday.
Joey Krecic tied for 34th place with a 231 total (76-78-77), while Patrick Luth tied for 37th place at 232 (79-77-76). Blake Prince was one shot back at 233 and tied for 43rd place, while Anton Krecic finished 57th at 236.
Kent State, ranked 11th in the country, won the team title with an 857 total, while just 10 strokes separated the runner-up from the CSU which finished eighth.
Army was the runner-up at 904 and was followed by Richmond (906), 26th-ranked North Carolina (907), Campbell (908), South Alabama (909), Rhode Island (911), CSU (914), host UNC-Wilmington (916), Rutgers (916), Davidson (925) and Akron (936).
CSU is back in action at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational next Monday and Tuesday (March 27-28). The Vikings are the defending champion of the event.
