INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State sophomore Zach Robbins has been named the Horizon League Nike Men's Golfer of the Week following his performance at the Wildcats Spring Invitational the league office announced on Wednesday.
Robbins, who is the first Cleveland State golfer to win the weekly award this season, tied for third place at the Wildcats Spring Invitational leading the Vikings to a third-place finish in the tournament.
He opened tournament play with a 73 and then carded a career-best round of six-under par 65 on the second day of the tournament. He tallied eight birdies and two bogeys to finish with a 65 and a two-day score of 138.
Led by Robbins, Cleveland State posted a school record for a round in relation to par as the Vikings shot 14-under 270 as a team. The 270 team score also tied the school record for the lowest round in Cleveland State history.
