Cleveland State struggled to a final round 323 in tough conditions en route to finishing 17th at the El Diablo Intercollegiate, hosted by Marshall. Jacksonville cruised to the victory with an 885 (+21), easily maintaining the 20-shot cushion it held heading into Sunday's final 18 holes at the par 72, 7,045 yard El Diablo Golf Club.

There wasn't even any drama in the race for medalist, as Jacksonville's Duncan Stewart carded a steady 69 to claim the individual title at nine-under par (207). Charleston Southern's Shawn Hall was the runner-up at 213 (-3).

Charleston Southern was second in the team race at 905 (+41), while Winthrop was nine shots back in third.

Ben Grandy led the Vikings with a 238 (+22) to finish in a tie for 57th, while Jake Scott was two shots back in a tie for 69th.

"This was a really tough course that put a premium on driving and we just didn't hit the ball straight enough off of the tee," CSU head coach Tom Porten said. "The good thing is we know what we need to work on in the next two weeks."

Cleveland State is off for two weeks before heading to Nashville, Tenn. for the Belmont Invitational at the Legends Club on April 3-4.
