Men's Golf Finish 16th at Belmont Invitational

Franklin, Ky. - The Cleveland State men's golf team shot a final round of 304 Tuesday for 16th-place overall at the Belmont Invitational in Franklin, Tenn. The Vikings tallied a 906 (308-294-304) at the par-71 Legends Club. Senior Billy Houle paced the Vikings, shooting a 71 for par in the final round and placing him in a 17th-place tie with a 218 (73-74-71). A pair of freshmen followed Houle in the CSU standings, with Mike Rutgers carding a 224 and Ben Grandy posting a 229. Tennessee State captured the team title by recording an 851 (288-283-280) thanks to the play of Robert Dinwiddie and Phillip Watkins, who finished 1-2 with scores of 208 (73-68-67) and 211 (71-70-70), respectively. The Vikings next head to Morehead, Ky. on April 12-13 for the Greg Palmer Classic.
