AKRON, Ohio - Cleveland State stands in 13th place at 626 (317-309) after the first day of the First Energy Intercollegiate. Toledo leads the 15 team event, which is being hosted by Akron on the par 72, 7,125 yard North Course at Firestone Country Club.

The Rockets put together rounds of 283 and 293 (576) and stand six shots clear of Ball State (582). Toledo's Justin Bertsch carded scores of 66 and 72 (138) to take a one-shot lead over Wright State's Brandon Knutson into Sunday's final round. Knutson fired the low round of the day (65) during action on Saturday morning.

Freshman Doug Barber paced the Vikings with rounds of 78 and 74 and currently stands in a tie for 31st at 152. Sophomore Mike Rutgers is two shots back in a tie for 39th (75-79). Senior Bill Schaefer carded CSU's low round of the day with a 73 in the afternoon.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday morning with teams going off from the 1st and 10th tees beginning at 8:00 a.m.
