LEBANON, Ohio - Sophomore Jake Scott moved into contention for medalist honors at the Horizon League Championship with a one-under par 71 in Monday's second round at the par 72, 6,926 yard Shaker Run Golf Club. Detroit leads the team race, while the Vikings stand in fourth place.

Scott's 36-hole total of 146 (+2) puts him in a tie with UW-Green Bay's Eric Mabee, five shots behind Detroit's David Byrne, who carded the low round of the day with a 67 in the afternoon. Junior Doug Barber -- the 2005 Horizon League medalist -- and freshman Patrick Elber are tied for 14th at 154.

As a team, the Titans are at 588, seven strokes clear of UW-Green Bay. Loyola is in third place at 605, while the Vikings sit in fourth at 609. Wright State (615), Butler (619) and Youngstown State (628) round out the seven-team field.

The championship will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday, with the team champion earning the league's automatic NCAA Regional bid.
