LEBANON, Ohio - Sophomore Jake Scott's 73 was the low round of the day at the par 72, 6,926 yard Shaker Run Golf Club, but it was not quite enough as the Strongsville native finished as the runner-up at the Horizon League Championship. Detroit's David Byrne led the Titans to the team title with a 54-hole total of 216 (E), three shots clear of Scott.

Detroit's Mark Sommerfeld stood in third at 222 as the Titans posted an 894 to out-distance UW-Green Bay by 16 strokes. CSU finished in third place at 913 after posting the low round of the day, while Loyola (914), Butler (933), Wright State (941) and Youngstown State (941) rounded out the field.

"We came out strong today, but just couldn't sustain our momentum throughout the entire round," CSU head coach Brian Varsey said. "Jake really played great throughout the tournament -- he's really showing tremendous maturity on the course."

At the conclusion of the championship, Scott was named to the All-Horizon League squad.
