LAWRENCE, Kan. - Cleveland State concluded play in the Kansas Invitational on Tuesday, shooting a final round 308 to finish 13th at 896. The host Jayhawks defended their title in the 54-hole event with a 12-under score of 854. The 17-team field competed at the 7,092 yard, par 72 Alvamar Golf Club. Kansas edged runner-up Tulsa by three shots and third-place Louisiana-Monroe by four strokes. Western Kentucky's Robby Shaw posted his third straight round in the 60s (69-68-69) to finish at 10-under par (206). Houston's Pablo Acuna finished second at eight-under, while Kansas' Gary Woodland was in third at seven-under. Viking freshman Jake Scott shot his second straight even-par round of 72 to finish in a tie for 22nd at one-over par (217). "All-in-all Jake did a real nice job this week, he really showed me some things," CSU head coach Tom Porten said. "We gave away a lot of shots early on -- we can't have scoring gaps like we did in the line-up this week." Cleveland State hits the links again on Sept. 26-27 when the Vikings compete in the John Dallio Memorial Invitational, which is hosted by DePaul. Team Standings Individual Leaders
