Men's Golf Stands Seventh After Two Rounds At Joe Agee Invitational

PROVIDENCE FORGE, Va. - Cleveland State stands seventh out of 17 teams after putting together rounds of 298 and 299 on the first day of the Joe Agee Invitational. Freshman Doug Barber (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South) is tied for 14th after posting a 146, including matching his career low with an even-par 72 in the second round. The field is competing at the 6,967-yard Royal New Kent Golf Club. Sophomore Mike Rutgers (Kingsville, Ontario/Cardinal Carter) stands just a shot behind Barber in 17th place, while classmate Ben Grandy (Southgate, Mich./Gabriel Richard) is tied for 130th at 150. Towson's Alex Brueggemann shot a five-under par 139 and is two shots clear of a trio of golfers at 141. The Vikings trail Rutgers by 20 shots heading into the final 18 holes. Towson and host William & Mary are tied for second, just three shots out of the lead. Cleveland State closes out play at the Agee Invitational with the final round beginning at 8:00 a.m. EDT on Tuesday morning. Team Scores: CSU Individual Scores:
