The Cleveland State men's golf team took a share of sixth place in the Eastern Kentucky Spring Invitational this weekend. The Vikings carded a 304-302---606 at the par-72 Arlington Golf Club in Richmond, Ky.

Three of CSU's five competing golfers placed in the top 25 individually in the tournament. Junior Christian Komsa (Tecumseh, Ont./E. J. Brennan) paced the Viking linksters, posting an 11th place tie with a +3 score of 74-73---147. Junior P.J. Myers (Westlake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) finished three strokes behind Komsa, tying for 20th with a 75-75---150. Senior newcomer Billy Houle (Joilette, Quebec/Georges Vanier) completed the tournament one stroke off of Myers after firing a 77-74---151 for a 25th-place tie.

Eastern Kentucky University dominated the 19 team field at their home invitational, winning the event with a score of 289-286---575, 22 strokes ahead of second-place Morehead State. EKU's Sam Covitz led the Colonel's attack, claiming individual honors with a -2 score of 72-70-142. Second place finishers Eric Anderson of Tennessee Tech and Matt Gallant of Austin Peay State both finished a single stroke back of Covitz with scores of 72-71---143.

Cleveland State's next scheduled tournament, the Butler Men's & Women's Invitational, was slated to begin yesterday but was canceled due to inclement weather. CSU will now resume action when it competes at the Legends Club of Tennessee on April 8-9 for the Belmont Invitational.
