Myers Named Horizon League Golf Athlete of the Week

April 3, 2003

Cleveland State senior golfer P.J. Myers (Westlake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) is the Horizon League Men's Golf "Athlete of the Week" for the week ending Apr. 1, the League announced. It is his first such honor in his collegiate career.

Myers was awarded for his outstanding play at the Liberty Spring Classic, where he carded a 75-74---149 en route to a second-place tie overall. His score also helped the CSU squad to a third-place team finish in the tournament.

Myers joins fellow senior Christian Komsa (Tecumseh, Ontario/E.J. Brennen) as the second Viking to receive "Athlete of the Week" honors this season. Komsa was recognized last fall for the week ending Oct. 23.

The Vikings men's golf team continues their spring season on Apr. 7-8 at the Belmont Intercollegiate in Franklin, Tenn.
