Vikings Tie For Sixth at Greg Palmer Eagle Classic

The Cleveland State men's golf team took a share of sixth place in a competitive field at the Greg Palmer Eagle Classic, hosted by Morehead State. The Vikings carded a spring-low 297-296-293---886 for the three-round tournament at the par 72 Eagle Trace Golf Course.

Junior Christian Komsa (Tecumseh, Ontario/E. J. Brennan) shot a 71-76-71---218 to pace the Vikings and finish tied for 14th. Junior Lyle Wilkens (Bloemfontein, South Africa/Grey College) shot a career low round of 70 on his way to finishing tied for 28th with a 74-70-79---223. Junior P.J. Myers (Westlake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) finished two strokes behind Wilkens, carding a 76-75-74---225, while sophomore Mike Bognar (Seven Hills, Ohio/Normandy) shot a 76-75-76---227.

Eastern Kentucky (284-279-293---856) took first-place honors, shooting 12 strokes better than second place Wright State (280-300-288---868). Brad Morris of EKU edged out Wright State's John Schones by one stroke, 68-69-72---209 and 67-71-72---210, respectively.

The CSU men's golfers will next compete at the First Energy Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron, at Firestone Country Club on April 20-21.
