Cleveland State Men's Golf In Striking Distance At Horizon League Championship

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Cleveland State men's golf team sits in good position after the first two rounds of the 2002 Horizon League Golf Championship at the Green Bay Country Club in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Vikings shot a 309-303-612 on the first day of the tournament to tie Wright State for second, three strokes behind leader Detroit, which finished the day with 302-307-609.

Junior Christian Komsa is in a tie for fifth place after turning in a 76-75-151, seven over par. In addition, junior P.J. Myers and sophomore Mike Bognar turned in identical scores of 77-77-154 and are tied for seventh with two others while sophomore Billy Houle shot an 82-74-156 and sits in a tie for 11th.

Jesse Hutchins of Wright State leads the field after shooting five under in the first round and reaching par in the second for Day 1 score of 67-72-139.

Play concludes Tuesday with 18 holes.
