Jake Scott Named Horizon League Golfer of the Week

Sept. 12, 2008

Contact: Rob Henry

CLEVELAND, Ohio - After tying for fourth place at the John Piper Intercollegiate on Tuesday, Cleveland State senior men's golfer Jake Scott has been selected as the Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week.

The league office made the announcement on Friday (Sept. 12).

Scott fired rounds of 72-73-71 to finish even-par (216) at the 54-hole event which was played at the par-72, 7,064-yard Sand Ridge Golf Club. He was one shot out of second place and two shots out of first.

Scott's season-low 71 in the final round helped the Vikings card a tournament low 288 in the final round as CSU was only two shots out of second place as a team.

He leads the team with a 73.7 scoring average through two tournaments this fall.

Scott and the rest of the Vikings will be back on action on Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 15-16) when CSU competes in the 54-hole Kansas Jayhawk Invitational.
