CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland State sophomore Kyle Cobb became the first Viking golfer to earn Horizon League Men's Golfer of the Week honors as he was selected as this week's recipient. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday (Oct. 31) afternoon.

Cobb, a native of Strongsville, recorded his second straight top-10 finish, posting a two-over par 218 to tie for ninth place at the Belmont Fall Shootout (Oct. 15-16) at the par-72, 7,043-yard Nashville Golf and Athletic Club. His rounds of 71-70-77 helped the Vikings to tie for second place in the team standings. Cobb's final round 77 snapped a string of five consecutive rounds under par.

Cobb had tied for sixth place one week earlier at the IPFW Fall Classic with rounds of 70-68-70 (208) on the par-71, 6,582-yard Deer Track Golf Course. His second round 68 was a career-best.

CSU will be out of action until it begins the spring season in mid-March.
