CLEVELAND, Ohio - Wednesday's scheduled game between the Cleveland State University lacrosse team and Fairfield University has been cancelled.
The game was cancelled due to the impending winter storm bearing down on the northeastern United States. The National Weather Service upgraded Fairfield, Connecticut, and surrounding areas, to a Blizzard Warning early Monday morning, with the organization estimating 12-20 inches of snow expected.
There is no makeup planned for the game at this time, but the schools will work to see if they can find a date that works for both institutions later this season.
The game at Fairfield is the second that Cleveland State has lost in as many days due to the weather forecast in the northeastern U.S. The Vikings were scheduled to play at No. 7 Hofstra Tuesday evening, but that contest had already been cancelled.
As of this writing, Cleveland State is scheduled to next be in action Saturday, March 25, when they travel to No. 3 Penn State. It will be the Vikings' second straight game at a nationally ranked Big Ten squad.
