Men's Soccer Announces 2014 Schedule
CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's soccer program announced its 2014 schedule on Wednesday afternoon that features games against NCAA participants Wake Forest, California and Akron, as well as a game at ACC foe N.C. State.
The season will begin with an exhibition game against St. Francis on Aug. 23 followed by the regular season opener on Aug. 29 against Salem International University at 3:30 p.m. at Krenzler Field.
The Vikings will then play eight straight road matches, beginning with a contest at Marshall on Aug. 31 followed by all seven matches during the month of September on the road. CSU will play at N.C. State on Sept. 5 followed by a contest at Wake Forest two days later.
A trip out west sends CSU to California on Sept. 12 and to Sacramento State on Sept. 14. The Vikings return to Ohio for a match at Cincinnati on Sept. 24 before beginning Horizon League play at Milwaukee on Sept. 27.
The seven game road swing concludes at league newcomer Belmont on Oct. 4.
The Vikings return to Krenzler Field on Oct. 7 for a match versus Bowling Green followed by its first league match at home four days later against Oakland, which starts a string of six league matches out of the final seven contests during the season.
The final nonconference match is slated for Oct. 28 at Akron.
