Bockmiller To Play Soccer In 2005

May 17, 2005

K.C. Bockmiller, one of the top high school defenders in northeast Ohio, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Cleveland State and play soccer beginning in the fall of 2005. Head coach Pete Curtis made the announcement on Tuesday (May 17).

A two-time team captain at Padua High School in Parma, Bockmiller was named second-team all-district in 2004 while the helping the team to a fifth-place ranking in the state. He was a part of a defensive unit that limited opponents to a .50 goals against average, the third-best mark in the state.

An all-conference team member in 2003 and 2004, he was named as the team's defensive player of the year twice, helping Padua win the conference championship in all three of his seasons.

In addition to his accolades in high school, Bockmiller is currently the captain of the U18 Cleveland United Premier team.

"KC is a solid, smart defensive player with good passing ability who reads the game very well," Curtis said. I'm sure that, with experience, he will mature into a very effective player at this level."
