Cleveland, Ohio - Cleveland State sophomore forward, Justin Mancine was selected as the Horizon League Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the period of Sept. 21-27, following his performance this past weekend when he recorded a pair of goals, including the game winner against Loyola with 62 seconds left. The league office made the announcement on Monday (Sept. 28).

Mancine recorded both Viking goals on the weekend, including the game winning goal against Loyola that gave CSU a 1-0 win.

He continued his scoring ways on Sunday as he recorded the game-tying goal in the 70th minute against preseason favorite UIC. His come-from-behind goal tied the contest at 1-1 and sent the match into overtime, eventually ending in a 1-1 draw.

Mancine's goals this past weekend were the first two of his career.

This is the first time that a CSU men's soccer player has been awarded Player of the Week honors for the 2009 season.

Following a 1-0-1 opening weekend in league play, the Vikings return to action this weekend when they travel to Wisconsin for a pair of contests. They will face Milwaukee on Friday (Oct. 2) at 8:00 p.m. EDT and Green Bay on Sunday (Oct. 4) at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
