2008-09 - FRESHMAN SEASON
Became one of the best distance swimmers in CSU and Horizon League history after just one year with the program...won 32 races that included 11 wins in the 1,000 free and 10 wins in the 500 free...won all three of his individual swims at the Horizon League Championships with titles in the 500 free (4:26.00), 1,000 free (9:08.01) and 1,650 free (15:20.06, NCAA "B" cut) and was unanimously selected as the league's Swimmer of the Meet, Swimmer of the Year and Newcomer of the Year after leading the meet in points scored (60)...both the 1,000 and mile times were also new league and CSU records...swam the team's fastest 500 free and the second-fastest time in school history (4:26.00) on Feb. 26...also swam the team's fastest and the second-fastest time in school history in the 400 IM (3:57.41) on Feb. 6...swam fourth-fastest time in school history and team's fastest time in the 200 fly (1:50.16) on Feb. 7...swam team's fastest time of the season and the fifth-fastest time in school history in the 200 free (1:40.08) on Dec. 5...five-time Horizon League Athlete of the Week.

Member of South Africa's Open Water team...attended Westville Boys High School and Northdene Preparatory.
