CHICAGO, Ill. - Freshman Jakub Dobies set his second school record in as many days and the Vikings dominated the diving events to place second at the Horizon League Championships at Flames Natatorium at UIC. Wright State won the team title with 782 points, ahead of CSU's total of 700.5.

Dobies, whose time of 53.77 in the 100 breast on Saturday currently stands sixth in the nation, posted a school and league record 2:00.92 in the 200 breast. The Poland native, who moved to the U.S. and enrolled at CSU last month, was named the league's Newcomer of the Year for his efforts.

Senior Chris Dalman was named the Horizon League Diver of the Year after winning both diving events over the weekend. Dalman scored a 368.65 to win the three-meter dive on Saturday.

Diving coach Rich Karban was named coach of the year for the fourth straight year.

After cutting the Raiders' lead to 21 points after the third day of the meet, CSU lost ground in the final day. Wright State made its final push by placing first and second in the mile free and placed three of the top four in the 200 fly. WSU's Aaron Eckstein also won the 200 back on Saturday.

We had a lot of good performances and we did a lot of nice things that we can build on in the future," head coach Wally Morton said. "But my hat is off to Wright State. We gave them a run for their money, but we tired a bit at the end."

Sophomore Stef Potgieter swam just behind Dobies in the 200 breast to finish second at 2:04.68. Junior Dave Duecker and sophomore Nedim Nisic placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 200 fly.

Cleveland State concluded the meet with a third place swim in the 400 free relay (3:03.99).
