Cleveland - After the first day of events, the Cleveland State men's swimming and diving team stands in second place in the Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium. The Vikings find themselves only 10 points back of leader Wright State with a score of 213 through six events. Seniors Andrew Hancock and Thiago Lazarini guided the CSU attack, finishing 1-2 in the 500 free with times of 4:31.37 and 4:33.66, respectively. Junior Warren Vickers also posted a top time in the 200 IM, recording an NCAA "B" qualifying time of 1:49.79. In addition, the 200 free relay team tallied a second-place time of 1:22.05, topping the previous Championship record of 1:22.70.
The action continues tomorrow at Busbey Natatorium, with trials at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m.
