INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The men's swimming team swept its season-opening tri-meet against a pair of Horizon League rivals Sunday in Indianapolis. The Vikings defeated Butler, 171-42, and UW-Green Bay, 132-88.

Junior Thiago Lazarini (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Universitario) won the 200, 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events, while freshman Cleveland Brown V (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) and senior Gustavo Barrios (Panama City, Panama/Kiski School) were victorious in the 50 and 100 free, respectively. Sophomore diver Chris Jones (Brookpark, Ohio/Berea) posted NCAA Zone qualifying scores en route to winning the 1 and 3 meter events.

The Vikings are in action again on Nov. 10 when they travel to Olean, N.Y. to face St. Bonaventure at 1:00 p.m.
