CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will return to the road this week, traveling to Mercer (Sunday, March 10) and Kennesaw State (Wednesday, March 13) for a pair of matches on their annual Spring Break Trip.

The Vikings went 2-1 to close out an eight-match homestand, picking up wins against Buffalo and Wooster to improve to 9-6 on the year.
Vikings On The Road
Next week's matches at Mercer and Kennesaw State will be part of a four-match roadswing for the Vikings, as they will be on the road for the remainder of the month of March. So far this season, the Vikings own a 3-4 record when playing on the road.
Mostardi Earns Back-To-Back #HLMTEN Singles Player Of The Week Honors
For the second straight week Nico Mostardi was named the Horizon League Singles Player of the Week, becoming the first league player to earn multiple weekly accolades this season. Last weekend, Mostardi went 3-0 at the top of the singles lineup, picking up straight-set wins against Buffalo (6-1, 6-1), Xavier (6-3, 6-2) and Wooster (6-0, 6-0), extending his current winstreak to six matches and improving his overall record to 17-8 this season.
…Mostardi Moves Up CSU Singles Wins List
After his 3-0 weekend at No. 1 singles last time out, Nico Mostardi moved into ninth place on the CSU Singles Wins List with 63 career victories. Mostardi, who became the 11th Viking all-time to notch 60 career wins earlier this season, needs eight more wins to move into eighth place on the list.
Mostardi & Slade Named #HLMTEN Doubles Team Of The Week
Earlier this week Nico Mostardi and Benjamin Slade were named the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week, earning the honor for the second time this season. Mostardi and Slade picked up three wins at the top of the doubles lineup last time out, improving to 12-5 on the year and 7-4 this spring.
Bilinovich Notches 20-Win Season
After extending his current singles winstreak to nine straight matches with a perfect 3-0 weekend last time out, Clark Bilinovich notched his 20th singles win of the year and enters the annual Spring Break Trip with a team-best 20-7 singles record. Bilinovich, who is the first Viking to reach the milestone this season, is the 15th Viking all-time to record a 20-win campaign, and owns a team-high 11 victories this spring.
Terry Closing In On Win #50
Entering the matches at Mercer and Kennesaw State, sophomore Matthew Terry is just seven wins shy of notching his 50th career victory. Terry, who has 43 career wins, owns a 15-9 singles record this season, and would become the first Viking to reach the 50-win milestone as a sophomore with seven more wins this year.
Slade On CSU Singles Wins List
After picking up a win at No. 3 singles against Wooster last weekend, senior Benjamin Slade is now in sole possession of seventh place on the CSU Singles Wins List with 72 career wins. Slade, who became the eighth Viking all-time to reach the 70-win milestone earlier this year, needs one more win to move into seventh place on the list.
…Slade On CSU Doubles Wins List
Following his 3-0 performance with Nico Mostardi at No. 1 doubles last weekend, Benjamin Slade cracked the top-10 on the CSU Doubles Wins List, entering the week ranked ninth with 63 career doubles wins. Throughout his career, Slade has been part of two Cleveland State tandems that have recorded 20 or more wins, including this year as he and Mostardi rank 10th on the Team Doubles Wins List with a 20-10 record.
Head Coach Brian Etzkin
Brian Etzkin is in his 17th year at the helm of the Vikings, owning a 244-176 dual match record. Last year, Etzkin guided the Vikings to their sixth Horizon League Tournament title and sixth trip to the NCAA Tournament, while posting his 13th winning season at Cleveland State.
Scouting The Bears
Mercer enters Sunday's match with a 5-8 overall record this spring, and picked up a pair of wins against Stetson (5-2) and Jacksonville State (6-1) last time out.
This will be the first meeting between Cleveland State and Mercer.
Scouting The Owls
Kennesaw State currently stands at 4-4 on the season, most recently picking up back-to-back wins against Austin Peay (4-0) and Chattanooga (4-2). The Owls will face Winthrop and Georgia Southern prior to Wednesday's matchup against the Vikings.
This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
