ORLANDO, Fla - The Cleveland State men's tennis team opened its spring break trip with a 4-3 win over Baker on Sunday afternoon in Orlando, Fla. The Vikings (7-8) got wins in four of the six singles matches to claim their seventh win of the season and come within a match of .500.

"We were able to get everyone in the lineup today, which was good," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "This was a very competitive match, and it brought us one win closer to hitting .500 for the season."

Jay Tee and Paul Haley breezed through their singles matches in straight sets, with Tee posting a 6-4, 6-1 win over John Ritchey at No. 3 singles and Haley scoring a 6-1, 6-2 win over Blake Glover at No. 5. Eric Winn and Jordan Reynolds closed out the win with three-set wins at No. 1 and 6 singles, respectively. Winn defeated John Henderson, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, while Reynolds took down Joe Ahmadian, 7-5, 2-6, 6-0.

"The guys opened with singles first and everyone got ahead early," Etzkin said. "Still, we learned it's tougher to close out points outdoors, and we remembered that we have to work harder to set up a winner outside, but we worked thorugh it."

The Vikings continue their spring break trip with a Monday matchup against St. Cloud State at 8:00 a.m. in Orlando.
