The Bulldogs, winners of the last eight league championships, clinched the regular season league title with the win, but CSU can still get second place and a first-round tournament bye with a win over the Flames on Sunday.
"Our goal was to get into the top three in the league this year," head coach Brian Etzkin. "While it's nitce to have done that, we want to close the season with wins and set ourselves up nicely for the conference tournament."
"Phil really stepped up for us," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Low might be the best player in the league and for Phil to beat him puts him among the league's elite."
The match was closer than the final score suggests, as the Bulldogs controlled a trio of three-set singles matches to set themselves up for the win. Junior Brad Groleski and senior Dan Singer each rallied to split sets before eventually falling. Sophomore Rob West went up a set against Sandy Berry before losing two straight stanzas.
