EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Cleveland State men's tennis team completed action at day one of the Stan Drobac Invitational on Friday at the Michigan State Indoor Tennis Facility. The event was moved indoors due to rain in the area with the doubles portion of the tournament beginning today. "I thought we played really well today and I saw some good things on the court," assistant coach Jay Tee said. "It was a long day with everyone playing three matches, but I thought we did a good job of staying mentally and physically strong. We'll get some rest tonight and come back and hopefully play with the same intensity in the singles portion tomorrow." Seniors Phil Orno and Ryan Hamning combined to go 3-0 in three doubles matches today, picking up wins over Michigan State, Dayton and IUPUI. "Phil and Ryan looked really good today," Tee said. "They have been playing together for a few years now and it really showed today as they were feeding off each other." Rob Fox and Chris Klepatz also teamed to win all three of their matches today, incluidng an 8-1 decision over Austin Weigand and Bryce Warnock of Dayton. In all, the Vikings went 10-3 today. Singles action is slated to begin tomorrow at 11 a.m., the MSU Outdoor Tennis Courts, weather permitting. In the case of rain or poor weather, the matches will move to the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
