ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Rob Fox and John Haley won their second straight doubles match to advance to the round of 16 at the Wilson/ITA Regional Championship on Saturday at the University of Michigan's Varsity Courts.

Haley and Fox earned an 8-4 win over Michigan's Chris Cha and Evan King, who were the seventh seeded doubles team.

It is the furthest that a CSU doubles team has ever advanced at the regional championship and they will play Detroit's Latosinsky and Necajevs on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. for the right to advance to the quarterfinals.

"We are excited to have a team in the round of 16 and it will be a lot of fun to have the opportunity to play another Horizon League team tomorrow," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Rob and John really played well today and the match was never in doubt. They had two early breaks and were very aggressive for the entire match. They have not played many matches together, but they appear to be very comfortable together and continue to play well."

The team of Phil Orno and Ryan Hamning dropped their doubles match today and were eliminated from the draw.

Orno also fell to King, 6-0, 6-1, in the main singles draw to be eliminated from the tournament.

Hamning also played a singles match in the consolation round, falling to Spencer Wolf of Northwestern, 6-4, 7-6 (4).

"Ryan played another gutsy match today and although he didn't win, he will learn from this and continue to improve," Etzkin said. "I have no doubt that he will be there in the end and win some big matches for us."
